Mrs. O'Malley, a Catholic, desparate for grandchildren, confronts her daughter only to be rebuked.
They take on a lodger, Kevin, David's lifelong friend of whom Mrs O'Malley disapproves. Unable to pursue his marital duties, David, to please his mother-in-law by satisfying her want for a grandchild, approaches Kevin to perform the act for him.
Mary approves and invites Kevin (to save face) only when she is in one of her deep sleeps. However, Kevin, feeling guilty, calls on a work mate, Randy, a devout catholic, to do the deed for him.
Mary, to her mother's great pleasure, produced two boy twins and through a nosy neighbour discovers the rightful father. Randy, being a catholic, she approves - and David and Kevin find relief in each others company and are quite happy to become loving uncles.

In essence, the partnership had become defined
In essence, the partnership had become defined by companionship rather than passion, and companionship was no longer enough. In recent years, however, more and more couples have come to Andrew with the same problem - almost one in four.
Discovering an absolute lack of research into the 'I love you but ' issue, marriage counselor and writer Andrew G. Marshall devised his own unique and highly successful approach.
In "I Love You But I'm Not in Love With You", he shares his insights into what brings a couple to this pivotal point and the seven steps that can take the relationship a step forward. By looking at how couples communicate, argue, show love and affection, foster a sense of play, take responsibility, give and learn, he offers a reassuring and empowering map for how two individuals can better understand themselves and each other, and forge a bond that is stronger than ever.
He says, 'the most common question people ask when they hear about my work is, "Is it really possible to fall back in love?" My answer is always the same: an emphatic yes.' "I Love You But I'm Not in Love With You" explains how

The twins can each have an apartment, yet still work together at the accounting firm they own. But for two crazy sistahs like Felicia and Aisha, life is never simple.
Aisha's eyeing Derrick upstairs, even after his pregnant ex-girlfriend from Chicago turns up. Felicia is having a secret affair that will shock even her sex-crazed sister, and her life takes an even crazier turn when she falls in love with her best friend.
And they're both beginning to wonder if the business they started was the right choice. It's a bumpy ride, but the twins are set to prove that determined women truly can have it all -- careers, maybe marriage, and certainly lots of good, hot sex.

By all accounts, Simon Basset is on the verge of proposing to his best friend's sister, the lovely--and almost-on-the-shelf--Daphne Bridgerton. But the two of them know the truth--it's all an elaborate plan to keep Simon free from marriage-minded society mothers.
And as for Daphne, surely she will attract some worthy suitors now that it seems a duke has declared her desirable. But as Daphne waltzes across ballroom after ballroom with Simon, it's hard to remember that their courtship is a complete sham.
Maybe it's his devilish smile, certainly it's the way his eyes seem to burn every time he looks at her . .
. but somehow Daphne is falling for the dashing duke .
. .
for real And now she must do the impossible and convince the handsome rogue that their clever little scheme deserves a slight alteration, and that nothing makes quite as much sense as falling in love . .

Simon is a keeper. This was the first of Julia's that I read - and I enjoyed it immensely!Funny and irreverent, it made me laugh and cry - what better can a book do? I really enjoyed this book.
You could almost consider this a 'bodice ripper" but I'd consider it more of a historical novel. Similar to Julie Garwood books.
A very easy read. Read it in one day.

(less)Before Freedom- Nehru’s Letters To His Sister 1909-1947
There can be no definite answer. She cannot and none of us can at this stage say what she can or will do.
But I am quite clear that nothing that is worthwhile can be done in the clouds! She will have to come down and if she does not do so early she will do so late and then the process is more painful.' Jawaharlal Nehru to Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit Dehradun Jail, 6 March 1933 Written over a period of thirty-eight years - from 1909 to 1947 - this collection of letters between Jawaharlal Nehru and his sister Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit is significant as much for its historical content as for its literary value.
The letters reveal the joys and trials of a family immersed in the struggle for India's independence. They are also a living testimony of the resilience and strength that won India her freedom.
The letters included in this book have been divided into seven sections - each with its own distinctive flavour of life in and out of prison. Whereas in the first section the note of warmth and affection between a brother and his younger sister is almost palpable, the later sections depict the man who was to become the country's first prime minister in a variety of other roles - as a husband, father and statesman.
In all this, one cannot but appreciate the lucid insight, skilled prose and logic of Nehru whether he is writing to his sister after her husband's demise, expressing his views on global issues, or expostulating on the interpretation of the nude. Browse For Other Books By Same Subject.
