This priestly family has arguably been the most creative force in this important town. Their influence also radiates well beyond India's borders both because of their tireless work in fostering scholarship and performance about Krishna and because the scion of the family, Shrivatsa Goswami, has become an international spokesman for Hindu ways and concerns.
Case, who has been an occasional resident in the family ashram, gives the reader a real sense of the atmosphere of daily life there, and the complete devotion of the residents to the service and worship of Krishna

Krishna
Krishna alone seems to be relevant to the new awareness, to the new understanding that came to man in the wake of Freud and his findings. It is so because in the whole history of the old humanity Krishna alone is against repression

Divine, at the same time endearingly human, he is at once the beloved child, the stealer of hearts, the loyal friend, the astute statesman and king, the valiant hero, the simple cowherd, and the great philosopher and teacher. Shanta Rameshwar Raos retelling of Krishnas story is moving and charming, full of the wonder of his grace, and at the same time, very contemporary.
The story is further brought to life by Bulbut Sharmas paintings especially commissioned for this book. Drawing on contemporary, traditional and folk genres they add another, rich dimension to the book.
the motif and symbols, drawn in the style of the sanjhis of Mathura evoke Vraja and the presence of Krishna

(less)Krishna Speaks To You Again
Philosophy is understood here as a process of in tense thought and understanding coming through self-realization or God realization. Revelation or realization, understanding and awareness are sheet anchors of Indian philosophy.
This medium of this Gospel has no ego of being the author of such a treatise which appears to surpass all that has been written on the subject. To her interviewer she says I am only receiver and transmitter of the Voice of Krishna.
Lovers of Lord Krishna will recognize the Voice of the Lord, as the message will sound familiar to those who have any idea of Krishna who spoke some thousand years back to Arjuna and whose voice has come down as Gita or song celestial. Krishna the super man of Dwapar is not before us in person, but he has chosen to speak again.
Hence this treatise deserves close and alert reading. The attention given to it will not go unrewarded.
It is an extraordinary presentation both in form and content in which Lord Krishna speaks in first person. It steers clear of all controversial issues, discourages all dogmas, advocates independent thinking, eschews all fanaticism and reveals the sublime facts of religion which Krishna prefers to call The technology of spirit.
The universe is governed by the divine will of the cosmic person and it operates through the triple orders, Adhibhuta (The material order), Adhyatma (The spiritual order), and the Adhiyagya (the moral order). The triple orders have their genesis in the divine will.
By order is meant the arrangement or whole system of laws and these laws are immaculate and inviolable. Just as there are inviolable and immaculate laws of matter so there are immaculate laws of spirit whereby the Anteryamni spirit, the Bahiryamni Spirit (the Individual spirits or souls), the cosmic spirit (resident indivisible spirit of the universe), come out of the transcendental supreme spirit and operate in the universe and enter into various bodily frames and animate them.
The moral order comprise the constitution of the supreme spirit which ordains perfection in human behaviours and links it up with the cosmic spirit. Moral order means the system of Laws of Action and interaction among human beings between themselves on one hand with regard to the rest of the creation on the other hand.
Adhiyagya is diving will operating in the form of moral order and whenever the moral order is disturbed it is set right by direct action of the divine will. Love is a fundamental law of the moral order Existence.
It is nothing less than diving grace of the unmanifest supreme spirit. Love alone sustains the universe.
Love the creation, and love the resident spirits of the universe. This is the latest message relayed through, Krishna Speaks to You again
(less)In Adoration of Krishna : Pichhwais of Shrinathji (TAPI COLLECTION)
Never before has this subject been treated in such depth: the book covers the background of the sect, the place of these temple hangings in ritual practice and the vast range of mediums and techniques involved in pichhwai production, from the painted pichhwais of Nathdwara and North India, through the artistic gilded prints of the Deccan and the complex kalamkari dye-patterned pieces of the Coromandel Coast. Also represented is a rare 17th century, commemorative zardozi pichhwai, and examples of embroidery in silk, pichhwais in brocade, tinsel-prints and, finally, machine-printed fabrics and lace from foreign shores - the range is encompassing.
In addition, there are miniature paintings on paper, on glass, and even pasted on wood, all of them associated with the Vallabhacharya sect. With each type lavishly illustrated in colour, the book is a visual and aesthetic delight.
An evocative Introduction by Prof. B.
N. Goswamy leads on to articles on the two main centres of pichhwai-making by textile scholars Dr, Kalyan Krishna and Kay Talwar.
The entries cataloguing the collection and describing each pichhwai, the result of painstaking effort by the TAPI research team, constitute a mine of information. A unique feature of the book is a selection of stories translated from early vernacular accounts of the sect by Prof.
Karuna Goswamy. In Adoration of Krishna is a invaluable resource for designers, art historians, and anyone interested in the decorative arts of Indian textiles in the context of the spiritual lives of thousandsof people in this part of the world.
