India’s Nuclear Policy, Disarmament & International Security
The main objective of Indias nuclear policy is to ward off the threat of nuclear war, half the arms race and safeguard and strengthen universal peace. We believe that this volume based research articles will be helpful to the both decision makers and the general public.
In this nuclear age this book will make a new contribution to promoting peace, progress and security. Now Nuclear weapons threaten to destroy not only every thing that our civilization has created over the age but life on Earth as well, Reason must triumph while there is still time

(less)Nuclear Politics
The book covers the period from 1945 to 2003 and examines the essential parts parts that both political acts and actors must play before any negotiation can begin, if the objective is to end proliferation and eventually bring about abolition of nuclear weapons
(less)Nuclear Stability In Southern Asia
The security situation on the Indo-Pak border and its linkages with cross border terrorism has serious implications for nuclear deterrence in the region. The Kargil War, a conventional war fought under the nuclear shadow, has thrown up new challenges for Southern Asian nuclear stability.
Nuclear Stability In Southern Asia discusses different aspects of nuclear weapons including doctrinal issues, nuclear confidence building, terrorism and its linkages with nuclear safety within the context of Southern Asia. The book taps into the vast experience of senior defence personnel involved in preparing India's draft nuclear doctrine and senior policy and strategic analysts in the country to present a comprehensive debate on nuclear stability in the region.

Nuclear Power In India
Predictably however, the world did not take too kindly to Indias nuclear ambitions and all technical and monetary assistance that it had been receiving from other nuclear states, ceased abruptly. Not only that, these powerful nations placed various sanctions on the country, severely incapacitating its ambitious dreams of entering the coveted nuclear club.
All further work on the countrys nuclear arsenal and power plants was therefore delayed. But these may now be things of the past, especially if the Indo-US nuclear deal comes through.
This interesting history of Indias bombastic entry into the Power Club also includes balanced arguments on the controversial Hyde Act. Nuclear Power in India: A Critical History, is an unbiased account of the trials and tribulations faced by Indian scientists while working on the countrys nuclear power programme.
An engrossing account of how engineers had to overcame not just technical snags, but also political ambitions, before they succeeded in testing two powerful nuclear bombs in 1974 and 1998. Indeed, the context in which the world was first introduced to nuclear energy was the latter, when nuclear energy was used to produce the most destructive and terrible weapons the human race had ever seen. Nuclear scientists have always promised the general public that nuclear energy has many potential positive benefits also.
Almost certainly, the greatest potential benefit accruing from nuclear energy is the availability of an almost endless and environmentally attractive source of power. The generation of nuclear power, however, also creates issues of safety and radioactive waste.
Nuclear Power provides readers with clear and essential information needed to define, understand, and research these important issues. This book includes a history of the subject, biographical information on important figures in the field, a complete annotated bibliography, and a carefully designed index—everything the researcher needs to get down to work
